Visa medical certificate services

Many countries require a visa medical certificate as part of your application. Since obtaining one and preparing it for foreign use involves several complex steps, we are here to guide you through our expert notarisation and legalisation services.

Before you even consider applying for a visa to go to another country, you should look at the requirements and ensure that you have a visa medical certificate, plus everything else you may need.

There are several steps involved in the process of getting and then being able to use your medical certificate, which we shall take you through on this page.

Our helpful team can help you with preparing your medical certificate for use abroad, but our partners at ZoomDoc are who you will need to use to get the certificate to begin with.

Below, we shall provide an easy to understand step by step process so that you can be on your way.

Step 1: Get your visa medical certificate

The first and most straightforward step is buying your visa medical certificate, which you can do by visiting our partners, ZoomDoc.

When you make your purchase, you can use our coupon code: wcl10 for 10% off of your order.

ZoomDoc works with doctors who are registered with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), so you can be sure that their services are trustworthy and backed by medical professionals and government services alike.

You will receive your certificate in two forms: as a PDF within an hour of your purchase, followed by an original copy with a wet-ink signature the next working day.

Step 2: Notarisation

Nearly every document that you intend to take with you abroad will need to be notarised, with very few exceptions. Visa medical certificates are one of the many documents that need to be notarised.

Only a Notary Public such as those at our firm can notarise a document; not even a solicitor can do it.

When you have your appointment, our notaries will provide your certificate with their stamp, seal and signature to prove that it is a real document. They will treat your matter with care.

If you would like to learn more about our notarisation process, then visit our webpage on what a Notary Public does and what to expect in your appointment

Finally, if you want to see who will be handling your case, then visit our notaries’ profiles:

Step 3: Legalisation

Once your visa medical certificate has been notarised, it will need to be legalised. This is a process whereby a document is given legal weight to those in your destination country; additionally, the notary’s details are checked to ensure that the documents have been notarised by a legitimate, registered Notary Public.

There are two different legalisation processes depending on which country you want to go to, both of which we can manage for you.

Most countries accept apostilles as a sole form of legalisation, which are physical documents that are attached to your documents. The process of getting an apostille is relatively simple and quick, with there being a few different options to fit your timescale. Visit our apostille packages page to learn more.

However, some countries instead use the much lengthier embassy legalisation process, which involves many more steps. It can also vary slightly from country to country.

As we work closely with the FCDO, we can assist you with every step of legalisation, regardless of which process you need to use. If you are unsure of the requirements for the country you are going to, then we can help.

Step 4: Translation

Next, your visa medical certificate may need to be translated by a Sworn Translator if your destination country does not use English.

A Sworn Translator is an individual who is officially authorised in a specific country to translate documents into the local language. They not only translate the document, but swear by the accuracy of the translations.

Although we cannot translate documents ourselves, we can arrange for your medical certificate to be translated by certified professionals.

Please do not try to translate the certificate yourself using AI or other tools, as other than the risks of using AI translations, the transcript will not be accepted, as it must be provided by a Sworn Translator.

Step 5: Apply for your visa

Now your medical certificate has been notarised, legalised and translated, you can use it as part of your visa application and take it abroad with you.

Make sure that you have everything else you need before applying for your visa, so as to avoid any delays.
