What is the Certificate of Good Standing?

The Certificate of Good Standing is an important document that proves your company has been in continuous existence since its inception. It also proves that your company is not currently in the process of being removed from the Companies House register.

You will usually need to provide it if you want to begin business operations in another country.

Read our blog on the Certificate of Good Standing to learn more, or continue reading this page to learn more about our Certificate of Good Standing services.

How do I get a Certificate of Good Standing?

You will need to use the Government’s company register website, Companies House, to order your certificate.

Once you are on the website, you will need to search for your own company; then, you can order your Certificate of Good Standing from your company’s registry page.

Why you need a Notary Public

If you want to expand your company’s operations overseas, you will need a Certificate of Good Standing. Before it can be recognised as valid in the country you wish to begin operating in, you will need to get your certificate notarised and apostilled or legalised. We can do this as part of our Certificate of Good Standing services.

As a registered Notary Public of England and Wales with years of experience, Nathan Woodcock can assist you with any notarial needs you may have. You can arrange your notary appointment to be at one of our offices in London, Manchester, or Sheffield. Alternatively, you can book it to take place at a reasonable time and location that suits you by using our mobile notary service.

We can also help you with getting an apostille for your Certificate of Good Standing, as we work closely with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. We offer a standard apostille service that takes 10 to 15 days, or a fast-track service that takes 5 to 7 days.

The entire apostille process will be managed by us, so you do not have to worry.

Some countries do not accept apostilles, so you will instead need to go through the process of embassy and consulate legalisation. We can also manage this whole process for you.
